  News Watkins Family Own Home!

David and Tina Watkins received a "release of mortgage" from Putnam County Habitat for Humanity April 18th, 2008.
Proudly looking on are Marj Weaver, current Habitat board president, and Pam Propsom, Watkins Family Partner and member of the selection committee which chose the Watkins family.
Habitat's affordable mortgage gave the family a "hand up" when needed, and by diligently paying their monthly mortgage and escrow, now the Watkins family own their own home outright!

Habitat for Humanity ‘Love Thy Neighbor’

NAACP, Habitat partner in ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ to build homes

GULFPORT, Miss. (Feb. 6, 2006) – The historic community of Turkey Creek, home to descendants of freed slaves who settled there in the 1860s, today serves as the backdrop for another historic announcement – a collaboration between the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and Habitat for Humanity International.

At the core of the announcement is a plan to build at least 25 new homes – and perhaps as many as 100 – with families affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, but there also is the strength of union, of building a bridge between the two organizations.

  Photo Gallery New Photo Gallery

The PCHHIN website is always changing, now we can look forward to seeing photographs of the things we do in the community.  That’s right a new Photo Gallery has been added to the website.  The gallery is up and running but you may have to wait a little  while until we have a chance to go through our picture albums and find some stuff to put up.  You know it won’t be as easy as you may think after we select the pictures we have to put names to the faces, dates, locations, now that’s the hard part.

All in all it will prove exciting and educational for everyone involved.
So click HERE and check it out.
